Carol Shue was brilliantly helpful and understanding - the instructions on how to complete my titration period were clear, and Carol was unbelievably prompt and reassuring in her responses to my questions, any day of the week. I had some questions regarding when to take my meds as I'm a shift worker, and Carol very kindly called me to suggest a routine and how an additional short release medication could help (which it has). I'm very grateful for Carol's expertise in finding the right medication and dose for me. Highly reccomended.

Far exceeded my expectations: My experience with Carol was extremely professional, overall her knowledge and experience helped me significantly in my journey of ADHD titration. The titration process was clear and systematic, Carol was always prompt in replying to any questions I had during the period and explained any concerns I had thoroughly. Even during the current Covid19/coronavirus period Carol and Phychiatry UK have ensured they maintained contact and prompt support. I can only say that I am extremely grateful for this given the circumstances. I am so glad I went through Psychiatry UK, the NHS ADHD referral have still not replied to me. Given the current circumstances I don't think they will for a while. It's a shame I didn't know about this option sooner as it would have saved me many years of stress and anxiety.

I am really impressed with Carol's service. I had a really long process to get the right medication for my disability and had complete trust in her at all times. I was so impressed with her promptness in replying to my emails and call times to support me through this period. Thank you Carol :)

  • Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber

Profile

I am a registered nurse prescriber. I started my journey as a mental health nurse by completing the recognised nursing course in the UK. Since qualifying as a nurse in 2011, I have worked in acute inpatient and community settings. I have helped pioneered the start of an NHS Adult ADHD service in 2011 and developed the service together with a Consultant Psychiatrist and provided a nurse led service for adults. Since 2011, I have participated in training conferences to help train other clinicians who were planning to start an adult ADHD service in their locality or those who have just started working in an adult ADHD service. I have given talks about the nurse led Adult ADHD service that I have helped pioneered in conferences/training sessions.

I was voted Clinician of The Year in 2017 in the NHS Trust I was working with, and this reflects my dedication and commitment to continue to develop my nursing practice and deliver the best nursing intervention to those in need.
